Peggy Longman Kepple, LSW, CADC, Grief Counselor candidate
Peggy is a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) and Certified Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Counselor (CADC). She received her Master’s in Social Work from Aurora University. Peggy is also in the process of being certified in Grief Counseling by the American Institute of Health Care Professionals Inc. At Positive Sobriety Institute, Peggy meets with patients during the intake process and assesses for trauma, mood disorders and substance use disorders. She performs substance abuse and behavioral addiction assessments for the Multidisciplinary Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP).

Peggy also works closely with patients’ family members to build a bridge between a patient’s treatment and their home environment. Peggy’s weekly experiential groups include topics such as Introduction to Al-Anon, Symbolic Grief and Loss, Dysfunctional Families, Family Roles and the Five Love Languages. Peggy’s clinical experience includes working with adults and adolescents in a variety of settings, including teen parents and survivors of trauma. Peggy utilizes a psychodynamic approach integrating the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Person Centered Therapy. She also has an extensive background in Human Resources where she recruited and managed employees in Florida, Texas and Philadelphia prior to moving to Chicago, IL in 2006.
