Daniel Allen Kobosky, LCSW, NCAC1

is a Therapist at Positive Sobriety Institute and is a licensed Clinical Social Worker, Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor with 20+ years experience providing individual and group counseling in communities ranging from homeless populations to professional level staff with chemical dependency and mental health issues.

Daniel Allen Kobosky started his education at Illinois State University before deciding to relocate to Chicago and continue his education at University of Illinois at Chicago. Daniel Allen Kobosky obtained a BA in psychology with a minor in sociology. He obtained his Masters in Social work from Loyola University in 1996.

Since that time Daniel Allen Kobosky has worked with many populations including a children in residential treatment for behavior disorders, developing Chicago’s only HIV+ addictions program with Heartland Alliance and providing in home therapeutic services to at risk pregnant women with the city of Chicago prior working with Dr. Daniel Angres in Oak Park providing treatment to addicted professionals.

Recently, Daniel Allen Kobosky obtained his National Certification for Addiction Counseling as well as completed training with the University of Washington’s Dialectical Behavior Therapy program. During this time, Daniel Allen Kobosky provided individual and group DBT therapy with Group Health to reduce inpatient hospitalizations of high risk and high need populations. Daniel Allen Kobosky returned to Chicago in 2013 to work with Dr. Daniel Angres and is now a Therapist at Positive Sobriety Institute.
